Overview

The rich history of Menchaca Elementary School began in the late 1800s. Named after Tejano Army Officer José Antonio Menchaca, the campus was originally built as a one-room schoolhouse. Modern-day Menchaca is a beautifully renovated school with outdoor learning spaces, colorful wildflowers, vegetable gardens and the Menchaca Meadows. In partnership with families and our community, we provide a learning environment of the highest quality to promote academic success for all children. The philosophy at Menchaca is that all children can achieve their goals when they believe in themselves.
