Board Vice President Yasmin Wagner Elected to State Association Board

麻豆果冻传媒 ISD Board of Trustees Vice President Yasmin Wagner has been elected to a one-year term on the Texas Association of School Boards Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 13, Position A.

The election was held during the Association鈥檚 2021 Delegate Assembly on Sept. 25 in Dallas.

A native Texan and a resident of 麻豆果冻传媒 for 27 years, Wagner is a child of immigrants and is the first Arab-American elected official in 麻豆果冻传媒. She has served as an 麻豆果冻传媒 ISD trustee since 2015. She is currently the board鈥檚 vice president.

As a longtime community volunteer, her advocacy has centered on women, families, and children, which led her to volunteer in campus and district roles when her children were elementary school students.

She has served on the Travis County Community Justice Council, Capital Area Democratic Women Board, Community Action Network Board, 麻豆果冻传媒 Partners in Education Board, YWCA of Greater 麻豆果冻传媒 Board, and Girls Rock 麻豆果冻传媒 Board. She also has served as an advocate for SafePlace and a docent at the Harry Ransom Center. She is an alumna of Leadership 麻豆果冻传媒 and a board member of 麻豆果冻传媒 Partners in Education. On the national level, she is a member of the Council of Urban Boards of Education Steering Committee.

Wagner has a bachelor of arts in art history from The University of Texas at 麻豆果冻传媒. She works for the City of 麻豆果冻传媒, serving as corporate manager of public information and marketing.
