AISD to Conduct Block Walk to Reconnect with Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ Families

Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD volunteers will conduct a block walk to reconnect with Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ families as part of Operation Reconnect. Volunteers will learn about families’ educational needs and priorities––as well as welcome more learners to AISD’s family of schools.

Who: Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½ ISD teachers, staff, and community volunteers.

What: A door-to-door campaign to reconnect with families and share information about district program offerings.

When: Saturday, June 5  from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Volunteers will meet at the Mendez Middle School field, 5106 Village Square Drive, Â鶹¹û¶³´«Ã½, TX 78744, at 9 a.m. for a brief orientation. Volunteers will then depart for the walk to designated neighborhoods.

The focus of the event is schools in the Dove Springs neighborhood. 
Focus campuses include:
Elementary: Houston, Langford, Perez, Palm, Rodriguez, Uphaus, Widén
Middle: Mendez

During the operation, volunteers will share information about the district’s world-class programs, including:

  • Free prekindergarten.
  • Fine arts.
  • Robust enrichment programs, which are available before and after school.
  • Free career preparation programs such as Pathways in Technology.
  • Early College High Schools.
  • Engaged 21st-century learning experience.

Volunteers will be using personal protective equipment to safely participate.
