鶹ý ISD Police Department hosts “Trunk or Treat” for families

This year, the 鶹ý ISD Police Department will host its first ever “Trunk or Treat” Halloween event for elementary-aged children.

The “Trunk or Treat” Halloween event is an opportunity for children and their families to come out and enjoy a safe trick or treating environment while getting to interact with police officers from the district.

Police vehicles will be on display for children to enjoy, and officers will hand out candy from decorated vehicle trunks.

“We are excited to be able to offer this for the kids and look forward to everyone's attendance on October 26,” said AISD Sgt. Lance Cox, a coordinator of the event.

Children are encouraged to wear their favorite costume, and Cox said dressing as a police officer may get children extra candy.

The event includes free snack foods, drinks, games, giveaways, a DJ, balloon animals and more.

All elementary-aged students are invited, though the focus of the event is on students in kindergarten through fifth grade in the northeast 鶹ý area from Andrews, Blanton, Harris, Hart, Pecan Springs, Pickle and Winn elementary schools.

This free event is 4–6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Nelson Field, 7105 Berkman Drive in northeast 鶹ý.
