Bob Cervi charged with designing, building and maintaining schools, properties
麻豆果冻传媒 ISD's Board of Trustees last night appointed Bob Cervi to lead construction management and facilities for the district. The appointment goes into effect today. "We are pleased to welcome Bob Cervi to the AISD team to bring together and lead our construction management and facilities operations and ensure they meet the district's educational mission and strategic priorities-both innovatively and cost effectively," Chief Financial Officer Nicole Conley Johnson said. Cervi will oversee the planning, design and construction of the district's schools and educational support facilities, including the recently passed $1 billion bond program. The program will modernize AISD schools and address critical deficiencies. He will help maintain and develop the educational specifications, which outline new facility standards for educational programs, including space requirements, equipment and technology needs. Cervi also will oversee all facilities management, as well as building and infrastructure improvements, for 130 schools and facilities throughout the district. This work includes overseeing roofing and flooring repairs and managing and maintaining heating, cooling and drainage systems. Cervi has worked in education for more than three decades-from serving as an educator to leading facilities and bond projects to consulting a chief operating officer. "With solid experience managing facilities and bond projects in Texas and Oklahoma, he understands the critical role facilities play in serving our schools and students," Conley Johnson said. "His experience and skills in team-building will be valuable to ensuring that there is alignment across departmental work and the service we provide to our school communities." From 2015-17, he served as the chief operations operator at Round Rock ISD, where he led more than 1,100 team members in service departments. He served as executive director of facilities operations from 2011-15 at Eanes ISD, where he oversaw the bond and capital improvement projects, supervised the facility rental program and developed and implemented the energy management program, which decreased consumption to offset a 17 percent rate increase. Prior to that, he was a consultant to School Dude, a supervisor at Siemens Building Technologies, the director of maintenance and project manager for Oklahoma City Public Schools and the director of central services for Norman Public Schools in Oklahoma. Cervi began his career in education as a drafting teacher and football, wrestling and soccer coach. During his 11-year tenure, he coached two state championship teams, one in football and one in soccer. He earned his bachelor of science degree in education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and his master of education degree from the University of Oklahoma. ### |
