Welcome to another week! I’m so glad you’re here.
Have you had an exceptional experience with your teacher? Sent them a RAVE to celebrate their work!

1 big thing: We’re getting ready to transition back to in-person
|
Can you believe we’re already in October? I know it hasn’t always been easy, but I’m grateful for this group of families and teachers coming together in the Virtual Learning Program this semester.
Teachers will be welcoming your children back into our classrooms in a few months and we’ve already started prepping for the smooth transition.
What's next: We’re collecting questions you may have so we can share an FAQ document with our virtual learning community.

2. It’s time for grade-level assemblies
|
We’ve had such a great time with our grade level assemblies so far and we’re ready to get back to it.
Mark your calendar and take note of the Zoom links:
Third Grade
Fourth Grade
Fifth and Sixth Grade
Kindergarten
First Grade
Second Grade

|
3. Let’s get ready for middle school
|
Did you know we start talking about middle school options as early as fourth grade?
Why it matters: 鶹ý ISD is an open-transfer district, meaning students can apply to transfer to any campus or program if space allows.
Go deeper: The Middle Schools Office will be presenting information on middle school options to fourth through sixth-grade students Nov. 4 at 9 a.m.

4. Gifted and Talented nomination, assessment update
|
We’re working through the nomination and assessment process for Gifted and Talented services.
Students in grades 3-6 who were nominated for Gifted and Talented services will take the Cognitive Abilities Test, or cogAT, soon.
Kindergarten through second-grade students can be nominated for Gifted and Talented services Oct. 25 through Nov. 5.

6. 1 fun thing: Teacher surprises
|
There’s nothing like being in our virtual classrooms so we visited some of our Virtual Learning Program teachers to see them in action and give them some treats.
Thank you, teachers, for your hard work!
