This week we’ll begin our process of moving teachers to where they’re most needed.
Why it matters: This annual process, often called leveling, will help balance class sizes across campuses and the district.
Of note: Each year we do our best to predict how many students will enroll at each school.
- This is why registering students before school starts is so important, because it helps us get an accurate picture of where teachers are needed.
Don't worry: No one's job is at risk during this process.
- We'll move teachers to where our students are — some schools have more students than expected and need more teachers while others have fewer.
- We estimate that fewer than .5% of our teachers will need to be reassigned to support students on other campuses.
Big picture: We’re working on making these changes early in the year so students and staff can settle in for the rest of the year.
- Middle and high school students may experience schedule changes as teachers move where they’re needed.
- Elementary students may have a new teacher and classmates as classes shift.
What's next: Affected staff will be notified by Friday, Sept. 6.
- Parents of affected students will be notified by Monday, Sept. 9.
- New classes will officially start by Monday, Sept. 16.

Esta semana comenzaremos nuestro proceso de mudar a los maestros a donde más se necesiten.

- Los estudiantes de secundaria y preparatoria podrÃan tener cambios de horario al mudarse los maestros adonde se necesitan.
- Los estudiantes de primaria podrÃan tener un nuevo maestro y compañeros de clase cuando cambien las clases.
¿Cuál es el siguiente paso? Se notificará al personal afectado a más tardar el viernes, 6 de septiembre.
