To my �鶹������ý ISD family,

Thinking back over this past year, I am humbled and in complete awe by the enormous challenges we have faced and how we have persevered. As a district and community, we have banded together to accomplish the impossible. Because of you, we were able to feed students who might otherwise not have eaten, because of you, we were able to acquire and distribute technology to support remote learning, because of you, we were able to build and implement a curriculum for students to learn at home or on campus, and because of you, we were able to implement new safety measures across our district to help keep our community safe. Our progress wouldn’t be possible without each of you—whether you’re a teacher, a principal, a custodian, a bus driver, support staff, central office or any number of roles that make our district great, it is because of you!

While we can never truly reward you adequately for your many contributions, we did want to provide you with at least some monetary award in recognition of your tremendous efforts. Therefore, on February 11th, 2021, at Thursday’s Board Information Session, we will be recommending the adoption of a resolution authorizing a one-time retention incentive benefit in March. This benefit will be $1,000 to all full-time staff who earn less than $150,000 annually, and $500 to all part-time staff. This is our way of saying thank you. Thank you for your on-going and unwavering commitment to �鶹������ý ISD’s students and families. 

As Booker T. Washington said, “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which they have overcome while trying to succeed.”

Because of you, �鶹������ý ISD will emerge from this pandemic as a better, more innovative and more equitable organization - and that progress will be a testament to our AISD family – for the �鶹������ý ISD family embodies the saying, “it isn’t an obstacle, it’s an opportunity!”

Para mi familia del �鶹������ý ISD:

Al pensar en el año pasado, me siento honrada y totalmente sorprendida por los enormes retos que hemos enfrentado y cómo hemos perseverado. Nos hemos unido como distrito y comunidad para lograr lo imposible. Gracias a ustedes, pudimos alimentar a estudiantes que, de lo contrario, quizás no hubiesen comido, gracias a ustedes, logramos adquirir y distribuir tecnología para respaldar el aprendizaje remoto, gracias a ustedes pudimos crear e implementar un plan de estudios para que los estudiantes aprendieran en casa o en la escuela y gracias a ustedes pudimos implementar nuevas medidas de protección en todo el distrito para mantener a nuestra comunidad segura. Nuestro progreso no hubiese sido posible sin cada uno de ustedes. Ya sea usted un maestro, director, conserje, conductor de autobús, personal de apoyo, personal de las oficinas centrales o tenga cualquiera de las funciones que hacen que nuestro distrito sea extraordinario, ¡todo es gracias a ustedes!        

Aunque jamás podamos recompensarlos suficientemente por sus múltiples contribuciones, sí queríamos proporcionarles al menos alguna distinción monetaria en reconocimiento de sus enormes esfuerzos. Por lo tanto, el 11 de febrero de 2021, en la sesión informativa de la mesa directiva del jueves, estaremos recomendando la adopción de una resolución autorizando un incentivo de retención por solo una vez. Este beneficio sera de mil dólares para todo el personal de tiempo completo que gane menos de ciento cincuenta mil dólares al año y quinientos dólares para todo el personal de medio tiempo. Esta es nuestra forma de darle las gracias. Gracias por su continuo e inquebrantable compromiso con los estudiantes y familias del �鶹������ý ISD.

Como dijo Booker T. Washington: “El éxito se mide no tanto por la posición que uno ha alcanzado en la vida, sino por los obstáculos que ha superado al tratar de tener éxito”.

¡Gracias a ustedes, el �鶹������ý ISD emergerá de esta pandemia como una mejor organización, más innovadora y más equitativa y ese progreso será un testimonio de nuestra familia del AISD – porque la familia del AISD encarna el dicho “¡no es un obstáculo, es una oportunidad!”
