We are #麻豆果冻传媒ISD proud of the LBJ Jaguars Football Team for advancing to the State Semifinal and earning their first regional title in the school's 47-year history.
The 麻豆果冻传媒 LBJ Jaguars, under the leadership of head coach Jahmal Fenner, faced off against the Miller Buccaneers from Corpus Christi in the State Quarterfinal on Saturday at San Antonio鈥檚 Dub Farris Athletic Complex.
鈥淚'm extremely excited for our students,鈥 said LBJ Principal Jon Bailey. 鈥淭hey have shown a lot of resilience throughout the school year. Our students are more motivated and determined to ensure that they give it their all this year, and that has shown on the football field as well as their academics.鈥
The game was hard-fought and close until the end as the Jaguar defense attacked Miller's offense to earn them a 59-54 win.
鈥淚t is a surreal moment but it also motivates me to want to use this platform to ensure that LBJ continues to thrive not only in football but also in our other programs as well,鈥 Bailey said.
麻豆果冻传媒 LBJ (9-2) will play Lindale (12-2) on Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Humble鈥檚 Turner Stadium for a chance to extend their historic season.
