Travis High School Becomes 'No Place for Hate'

Travis High School is now an official school, earning the designation after completing at least three anti-bias activities and committing to a Resolution of Respect. Tuesday, the Travis band, dance team and cheerleaders put on a show during a pep rally, to recognize the school's 1500 students and staff members for helping the campus become a community and to present the campus with an official banner. Travis is the second high school to earn this designation and is now among 30 AISD schools.

Launched in 2001, the initiative provides educators and students with resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school curriculum. It helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.
