On Nov. 11, AISD and coordinating organization MindPOP hosted 200 teachers at Lamar Middle School to discuss integrating arts curriculum in the classroom. Local arts organizations were on hand to talk to teachers about their programming and how it might fullfill their curriculum needs. 麻豆果冻传媒 Film Society Filmmaking Mentor Jill Hall and Community Education Manager Katy Daiger Dial showcased AFS' varied youth education programming, including the Film Club afterschool program.
Additionally, Filmmaking Mentor Sarah Gonzalez participated in Harris Elementary's Career Day. Ms. Gonzalez demonstrated filmmaking technology, and talked with the kids about the myriad of job opportunities in the digital media industries. Harris Elementary hosts an afterschool Film Club workshop, so Career Day was a great way to tie weekly curriculum to real-world situations.
