2024 Solar Eclipse

The Solar Eclipse in AISD

Don’t let a cloudy forecast stop you from enjoying what may be a once-in-a-lifetime event for many!

You will still experience totality - 100% of the face of the sun will still be covered by the moon.  A cloudy scenario actually produces a much more pronounced darkness. This is due to the combined light-blocking effect of both totality & the influence of the clouds themselves. You may not be able to have a clear view of the eclipse due to the clouds, but overcast totality is still a unique experience.  Listen for changes in bird and insect sounds, or look for changes in their behavior. As the sunlight fades, wildlife might act as if nighttime is approaching.

  • All campuses will be receiving glasses to view the eclipse.
  • Eclipse Choice Board:

In the event of inclement weather, students will watch the eclipse live via the  broadcast.
